A hand forged companion dagger, (renaissance style dagger) . In the days when the rapier was commonplace, the companion dagger was often times used along with it.

It would have been held in the left hand, to defend, while the sword was used for the attack.

I forged this one out of 5160, the fittings are forged of low carbon steel. The handle is wood with a copper wire wrap.

The blade was forged to shape then the bevels and fuller where ground ( like the originals ).

It has a nice bit of heft to it at 375 grams. The overall length is 15 1/2”, the blade is 9 3/4” long.
