A hand forged kukri sword.
This particular kukri I forged from Damascus steel of around 300 layers.
The handle is made of ash with a leather wrap, with a forged steel guard. it’s definitely not entirely authentic in its design (authentic with the south Asian design) ,
As I often do, I took the creative license.
The Kukri was a weapon common throughout south Asia, appearing in the area around the 7th century.
Designed as a close combat or “melee” weapon. but its certainly not limited to use as a weapon.
The kukris distinctive blade shape also makes it a very effective tool for the cutting of brush or crops.
The kukri has no doubt stood the test of time, as it is to this day used in the Indian armed forces.
